Pathways in the News: Letters to the Editor in The Chronicle of Higher Education

In response to a recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education entitled “As Reformers Take Aim at Remediation, Community Colleges Feel the Squeeze”, Anthony Bryk, President of the Carnegie Foundation, and Karon Klipple, Executive Director of the Carnegie Math Pathways submitted this  Letter to the Editor describing the growing body of empirical evidence that Carnegie Math Pathways students have better outcomes than traditional developmental math students. A separate letter was also submitted by Jane Tanner, the President of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, emphasizing the rigour and relevance of Pathways curriculum and learning outcomes.
