2016 National Forum New Faculty Preparation
Congratulations to all of the new faculty members who came together in July at the National Forum! Participants were able to dive into the curricula, learn about Starting Strong with their students, work with their Faculty Mentor, and much more as they were getting ready to teach the Pathways.
We hope that you were able to get to know some of your fellow faculty members who are embarking on the Pathways journey with you, and that you will keep in touch to share your successes and challenges. The Networked Improvement Community is here to help with and learn from your teaching experiences.
A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who made this year’s New Faculty Preparation at the Forum in San Francisco such a great success. The Faculty Mentors put together an engaging program that included a new fishbowl activity for demonstrating lessons, new table rotations to help faculty prepare for the first two weeks of their courses, and welcomed new faculty into the NIC with several community building activities. The Ethnomathematics lesson, lead by John Kellermeier, was a well received addition to the Forum and had many of us putting ourselves in the shoes of Carnegie Math Pathways students.
